Congratulations to Kim Williams who has officially completed her PhD with flying colours! Her thesis is entitled “Ecologies of art: social engagement, collaboration and the environment” at UOW: University of Wollongong, Australia.
Kim’s examiners unanimously passed the thesis requiring no revisions, which is a tribute to the thoroughness and skill of her artmaking processes, research and writing.
Kim’s PhD was built around 4 case-study projects in socially-engaged art, based around the sugarcane industry in Mackay (Qld), the local creeks of Wollongong, the fisheries community in Kiribati, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with scientists and geographers around the Great Barrier Reef.
